CAFB 2013 Legislative Day

The California Association of Food Banks hosts a Legislative Day each year at the State Capitol in Sacramento. Legislative Day is an important opportunity to educate state legislators about hunger in their districts and the work food banks are doing to help. This year, Legislative Day will be held on Wednesday, April 24.

Schedule Visits with Legislators
Now is the time to begin requesting visits with both the Assemblymember(s) and Senator(s) who represent the service area of your food bank. Please attempt to schedule meetings for after 9:30 a.m, to avoid overlapping with our morning reception. For those food banks who share legislators, please work to coordinate with your partner food banks in planning visits. We are available to assist in scheduling joint visits. Once you've scheduled a visit, please send CAFB a quick email with the name of the legislator, time and location of the visit, room number and the name(s) of those who will be attending the meeting. Please send the email to Tim Shadix at tim@cafoodbanks.org.
