The staff roster has seen a few changes recently, all the more to serve our members as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Over the past few months, the following team members have assumed new roles:
  • Ariel Fradin, Farm to Family Operations Manager (formerly F2F Produce Coordinator)
  • Charisse Ross, Farm to Family Associate Director (formerly F2F Operations Manager)
  • Farley Walker, Communications and Development Associate (formerly Administrative Assistant)

CAFB has also welcomed several new team members:
  • Loisa Godizano, AP/AR Associate
  • Kathryn Haefke, Farm to Family Assistant
  • Angela Davis, Finance Assistant
  • Edith Martinez, Programs Manager
  • Daniela Ogden, Director of Communications and Development
  •

First row: Edith Martinez, Daniela Ogden, Angela Davis
Second row: Loisa Godizano,  Kathryn Haefke, Ariel Fradin, Charisse Ross, Farley Walker

Two positions are new for the association and offer distinct benefits for our membership.

Edith Martinez joined CAFB as Programs Manager in December. She previously worked at River City Food Bank, where she created a CalFresh Outreach program after collaborating with other food banks. She also worked for Covered California, providing technical assistance, personalized support, and outreach training. Her skills and experience will serve CAFB in the goal is to increase one-on-one support and technical assistance for members in CalFresh Outreach. Current focus areas include the following:
  • Onboarding new CFO programs for two members
  • Maximizing and increasing outreach to students by sharing best practices and guidance in response to new policy
  • Raising awareness about ABAWDS (Able-bodied adults without dependents) and eligibility changes
  • Preparing for CalFresh Outreach Awareness Month in May

When CAFB developed its new strategic plan last year, it became clear that the organization needed a communications department in order to
  • Publish professional, compelling, and on-message communications and marketing materials
  • Improve our ability to communicate with and understand the needs of our membership
  • Ensure that CAFB presents a public image that reflects the magnitude, quality and impact of our work
  • Convey to partners and potential partners in the nonprofit, private, and public sectors that we are “part of the conversation,” with an appropriate and effective online presence

Daniela Ogden joined CAFB as the Director of Communications and Development just after Thanksgiving.  She has over eight years of experience working in the non-profit sector in both communications and fundraising roles. Prior to CAFB, she was Associate Director of Marketing and Communications at the California state office of the National Audubon Society where she honed her skills on advocacy communications for both state and federal issues. She will be leading a new story banking effort, improving dialogue between CAFB and its members, and helping raise CAFB’s visibility as an anti-hunger leader among elected officials, the public, and funders.

CAFB extends a warm welcome to these new team members, who are all excited to join the fight to end hunger in California.
