The California DMV is pre-selling specialty license plates that help fund California Association of Food Banks members. The license plate, available for pre-order now at www.CaliforniaImagine.com, features the iconic self-portrait image of John Lennon and the slogan, “IMAGINE no hunger.”
Proceeds from sales will be administered by the California Department of Social Services and distributed to CAFB to be utilized by food banks for their hunger-relief programs.
The DMV will issue the ‘Imagine No Hunger’ license plates upon receipt of 7,500 pre-paid applications. Sequential plates are $50; personalized plates are $103.
A special note of gratitude goes to Yoko Ono Lennon who has kindly authorized the use of the John Lennon self-portrait image to help the California Association of Food Banks in its ongoing fight to end hunger in California.
Ono said,"Imagine is a great word to spread around and I was happy to do this because it is helping a very important charity."
To successfully meet the minimum pre-sale numbers needed to become a permanent plate, food banks in Florida where the campaign was a success advertised the opportunity to their donors. The below toolkit offers media assets for promotion in emails, social media, and websites.
