Here’s what we do during a disaster:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- Work in lock-step with the food bank in the impacted area<\/strong>, helping them get what they need. This often includes:\n
\n- Securing and delivering food (especially fruits like apples \/ oranges, water, and no-cook foods)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Connect with the State to make sure the food bank can quickly receive State Emergency Food Program boxes, and coordinate any other necessary response efforts<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Elevate and amplify communications<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Harness and direct donations — whether it be dollars or truckloads
<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n - Work with our CalFresh Outreach partners to implement Disaster CalFresh<\/strong>, this means \n
\n- Ensuring outreach partners know program details, updates, and timelines<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Translating materials to meet the language needs of the community<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Raising awareness of applications windows and eligibility
<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n - Work with our network of food banks to offer mutual aid to the impacted food bank<\/strong>, from extra hands to extra food.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
