Every day, we work alongside of our 43 member food banks and on behalf of hungry Californians. We ensure food banks have the tools and resources they need, so they can focus on what they do best: feed our communities. We believe adequate nourishment is a human right, and that ending hunger in our state is both essential and possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

California produces nearly half of the nation\u2019s fruits and vegetables \u2014 enough to feed us all \u2014 yet more than 20% of Californians face food insecurity on a daily basis \u2014 and this number doesn\u2019t even tell the full story. Because of vast structural inequities<\/a>, much greater levels of hunger are experienced by Black, Latine, and Multiracial Californians:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Theory of Change<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If we ensure that California\u2019s fruits and vegetables are not wasted but rather are equitably distributed across our state, change the systems and policies that create hunger in the first place, and enable access to nutritious food for those who need it right now, then we can end hunger in California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
