As soon as May 7, the House is expected to vote on their version of their Farm Bill—House Resolution 2 – the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018. The House bill contains over $20 billion in cuts to SNAP benefits and eligibility over 10 years and threatens to take food off of the table for many of California’s most vulnerable populations including:

 

Further, every billion in SNAP benefits creates at least 10,000 jobs & $1.79 billion in economic activity with the House Farm Bill effectively threatening the very path to self-sufficiency that the current SNAP program provides.
