California Association of Food Banks and the California Farm Bureau Federation released a joint statement last week that called for a unified Farm Bill. It was addressed to the Chairmen and Ranking members of the House and Senate Agriculture Committees, and specifically requested a bill that supports California’s robust agricultural sector and meets the nutritional needs of our state’s low-income residents. The statement also highlighted the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program’s vital role in reducing hunger and poverty statewide.
