We do not knowingly solicit data from children or knowingly seek donations from children under the age of 18. By using this website, you promise that you are at least 13 years of age. Donor Privacy Policy

In partnership with our member food bank network, California Association of Food Banks believes in protecting the privacy of personal information gathered from all individuals, supporters, volunteers, and visitors to this website.

In order to stay informed about CAFB activities or make a donation to support our work, you may choose to provide us with personally identifying information such as your name, mailing address, telephone number, or email address. We collect your name, email address, telephone number and payment information when you make a contribution, either on our website, at a special event, over the phone or by mailing in a check. We also collect your name, email address and other contact information if you register for an in-person or virtual event. CAFB will use that information for the purposes it was submitted. We may share that information with your designated local food bank in the CAFB network based on the address you provide. CAFB and/or our member food bank network may contact you about our activities and/or fundraising campaigns. If you do not wish to be contacted, receive mailings, or share your information with our member food bank network, you may opt-out by contacting us at the email address below.  

Email addresses gathered from donors or subscribers to CAFB are only available to employees managing this information for the purposes of contacting you with requested information, sharing with member food banks, and with contracted communications management vendors. All email messages contain a link to unsubscribe from CAFB email. You may subscribe or unsubscribe to CAFB at any time by contacting us.

If you do not wish us to contact you offline, receive such mailings or share your information with these organizations, you may opt-out by contacting us in accordance with the “Opt-Out” section of this policy.

CAFB uses third-party vendors to provide services on this website and in offline business operations. The information that you submit on this site may be provided to those vendors on a confidential basis so that those vendors can provide services (such as maintaining our database, sending email messages, facilitating fundraising activities, or processing credit card transactions) on our behalf. We do not sell or share any of your credit card, payment related, or other personal information.

Other than as described in this privacy policy, or as may be necessary to protect the rights, property, and safety of our organization or others, or as may be necessary to comply with applicable law, CAFB will not give or sell the personal information you provide online. 

Calls and Texts

If you give us your phone number, we may call with information about projects or programs we believe may be of interest, to thank you for donations, or to seek subsequent donations. We will contact you through these methods only in accordance with applicable legal requirements, and you always have the ability to opt-out of further calls or texts.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

We collect only the information you elect to provide to us.

We do not rent, sell, share, or otherwise give your personal information to any other party except as described above.

We will not send you mailings on behalf of other organizations.

We will collect payment information, billing address and other information necessary to process a donation or event registration through a third-party vendor. CAFB has partnered with Network for Good (EIN: 68-0480736) to securely process online credit card donations. Transactions will appear on credit card statements as “Network for Good.” The transactions are subject to Network for Good’s Privacy Policy and Charitable Solicitation Disclosures.

We will use your information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of law or comply with legal process served on us.

You have the right to review information that we have collected about you. To review that information please contact donations@cafoodbanks.org. 

If you wish to opt-out of receiving future communications, opt-out of having your information shared by CAFB, or exercise any other privacy right you may have by law, please contact CAFB at the below address or phone number or submit your request via CAFB’s website Contact Us form.

We may update our policy from time to time. When you submit your personal information to us, you are agreeing that CAFB may use the information in accordance with this privacy policy.
