COVID-19: Resources & Information
Our food bank network remains committed to keeping critical food resources moving to people who need them. We remain committed to providing them with the latest information, resources, and guidance. We are monitoring this evolving crisis and responding to ensure we are following the guidelines and recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and local health department.
COVID-19: CalFresh Updates
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the USDA and CDSS are rapidly making changes to the way CalFresh / SNAP operates in order to respond to growing need. We continuously provide updates with information about national and statewide changes to CalFresh / SNAP.
COVID-19: Older Adults
We are gathering promising practices to provide safe food delivery and pick up models to older adults in California during the COVID-19 crisis. Including descriptions of models being rolled out throughout the state, specific case studies, and useful resources to support community based organizations and public entities to quickly, safely, and effectively scale services to meet the need.
COVID-19: Farms & Food Donations
Established in 2005, our Farm to Family program works with farmers, rancher, packers, and distributors to get California food products from fields to food banks. On an average year, we deliver about 160M pounds of produce and 10M pounds of protein to food banks throughout the state. Now, during the pandemic, we've ramped up our operations to deliver even more. We're also working with the California Department of Food and Agriculture to help offset the packing, transportation, and other costs associated with getting the donations of fruits and vegetables to the food banks that need them.
