Meet CAFB’s New Advocacy Manager
September 27, 2018
We do not offer food. Here’s where you can find food.
A warm welcome to Becky Gershon, CAFB’s new Advocacy Manager. Read on to learn about our newest hunger fighter.
Becky comes to CAFB from the SF-Marin Food Bank, where she worked for five years, first as their Volunteer Coordinator, and finally as their Manager of Policy & Advocacy. She is excited to visit and learn from all the member food banks across California and to support their advocacy efforts alongside Andrew and Rachel. Before joining the food banking world, Becky taught cooking and nutrition classes at Foodlink in Rochester, NY (but she came back to California in search of sunshine and year-round farmers’ markets). Becky grew up in Yokohama, Japan, but spent summers in LA and went to college in San Diego. On weekends you can find Becky hard at work on the tiny house she’s building with her husband.
