Kianna and Colin recently discovered Food for People's Mobile Produce Pantry. When I met them they told me "The engine blew out of our truck. We haven't had fresh vegetables in two weeks." The smiles on their faces show their appreciation. Kianna works for a local animal rescue organization and recently graduated from college with plans to pursue a pharmacy tech degree in the fall. Colin has social anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder, as well as depression, so he can't work much or attend very much school as it sets these conditions off. With help of CalFresh they are generally able to eat enough to be healthy, but one car repair forced them to choose between healthy foods and transportation. They live in a rural community with limited (practically non-existent) public transportation and one grocery store located 2 miles out of town.
