New Nutrition Materials Available in Chinese and Russian

July 17, 2017

The Produce Education Program (PEP) introduced Russian and Chinese produce lesson plans and recipe cards last month thanks to a generous grant from Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit Southern California Region. The new languages were chosen based on feedback from food banks and food pantries participating in PEP. The additional materials augment the existing 24 lesson plans and 45 recipe cards in English and Spanish that were created with the support of the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program.

Food banks and food pantries who participated in PEP received over 23,000 materials in time to empower clients to try cooking with the greater variety of fruits and vegetables available during the summer months.

Materials in all four languages are now available on the CAFB website.
