We do not offer food. Here’s where you can find food.
A new Issue Brief from Budget Center Policy Analyst Amy Rose looks at a major barrier to college attainment: the struggle many students face in affording basic needs such as housing and food. This analysis discusses the extent and impact of unmet basic needs among college students in California and how key types of state and federal aid have failed to keep pace with a rising cost of living. The Brief also highlights a number of policy solutions for helping students, especially low-income students, to afford necessities as they work toward success in higher education.
